Test Plot
Photo #1 is of ground preparation on 30th June 2021. We decided to broadcast the seed in order to measure the germination time for bare areas ( which would normally be drilled) and for over seeding throughout the season.
Photo #2 is of growth by 13th July 2021 with a pre seed application. Even though we had dry weather and did not use artificial watering the results were good across all 3 varieties.
Photo #3 was taken on the 4th August 2021. 3rd cut and lines in.

Photo #1 If time allows then normally we would re seed and not turf the goal mouths. In this case the goal mouths were so out of shape and time was limited that we cut up the turf and levelled the ground, re laying the existing turf to complete.
Photo #2 Whether re seeding or laying new turf to level the goal mouths the soil must be relieved of compaction by vertidraining. This provides a healthy root zone.
Photo #3 The ground is made to a fine tilth, pre seed fertiliser is applied and the ground is watered prior to the turf being re layed.
